Motorcycle Repair Manual  Two-Stroke and  Four-Stroke,  184 pages.  #E38/A

Leo Lake was selected to talk about the two-stroke contingent and Jerry Branch for the four-strokers.  Both are nationally renowned; Leo for his work as Race Manager for the all-conquering Daytona Yamahas three years in a row, and Jerry for his vital influence on the Harley-Davidson racing program for the last decade.  These guys are real people.  Although both are recognized for their outstanding tuning prowess on the big, hard tracks. both are true enthusiasts away from the professional ovals as well.  Leo not only cuts a mean trail in the wilderness but logs more street miles per year than any other six riders known.  And in addition to his consuming duties as Racing Director of Yamaha International, he still finds time to actively participate in motorcycle club life.  Jeffy is all nuts and bolts when he isn't out beating the hills with his hoped-up trail bike.  In contrast to the fire-belching 45 Harleys that Jerry builds for the nationals, he has a penchant for the tiny pop corn roasters that fall in the 125cc category.  He's continually striving to surprise his track cronies with a little Kawasaki or Harley-Davidson Rapido that's been loaded to the eyeballs with a home-built pumper carb conversion or hot cylinder setup.

Contents:

TWO-STROKE:   Theory, Vincent; A Better Idea?  Trouble-Shooting, Tuning, Modifications for Street, Modifications for Racing, Build a Pumper Carb.

FOUR-STROKE: Theory, Carburetion, Ram Tuning, Ignition, Three-Cylinder Triumph, Trouble-Shooting, Tuning.

MATH & FORMULAS:  Volume, Cylinder Displacement, Compression Ratio,Valve Lift, Piston Speed, Horsepower & Torque (these are missing)

Read this carefully.  This manual is by far the roughest manual of our collection.  If it wasn't that it is such of an informative manual, it would have made it's way to the recycling bin.  It is dirty, the binding is completely gone and the paper cannot be perforated to fit in a binder because it is too thin and brakes easily where it would be perforated.  The pages are complete in the exception of the last 3 pages.  Some writing is missing on the top corner of these 3 pages.  The rest of the manual is dirty but it's not affecting the information.  The last 4 pages are missing completely.  These pages were a part of the MATH & FORMULAS: Valve Lift, Piston Speed, Horsepower & Torque, Gear Ratio.  The front and back cover pages are missing.  In brief, it's value is not in it's good look...  it is in it's content.  I believe the person who will purchase this manual will be pleased with it regardless of it's condition.
